Licences & Attribution

Tvara stands on a lot of other people's work. This page credits it.

Food data

Our food database is assembled from public national food-composition datasets and hosted by us. Each source keeps its own licence:

Icons

App and website icons are from Tabler Icons, MIT licence, © Paweł Kuna. On iOS, some system glyphs are Apple SF Symbols, used under Apple's terms and not redistributed.

Typefaces

This website uses Clash Display and Switzer by the Indian Type Foundry, served by Fontshare under the ITF Free Font Licence. The app itself uses the operating system's own typefaces — SF Pro on iOS, Roboto on Android — and bundles no fonts.

Maps

Route maps are rendered with MapLibre GL (BSD-3-Clause), with tiles from MapTiler and map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.

Software

Tvara is built with React Native and on a large amount of open-source software, almost all of it under the MIT licence, with a handful of Apache-2.0 components. The licence texts below govern that software.

A complete, current list of every package we ship, with its copyright holder and licence, is available on request from hello@tvara.health.

The MIT Licence

Applies to the packages marked MIT above, with the copyright holder named beside each.

The Apache Licence 2.0

Applies to the packages marked Apache-2.0 above. Licensed under the Apache Licence, Version 2.0; you may not use those files except in compliance with it. A copy is available at apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0. Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, software distributed under the Licence is distributed on an "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied.

BSD 3-Clause

Applies to MapLibre GL, above. Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, are permitted provided that the copyright notice, the conditions and the disclaimer are retained, and that neither the name of the copyright holder nor the names of its contributors are used to endorse or promote derived products without specific prior written permission. Full text at opensource.org/license/bsd-3-clause.

If a package's own notice file differs from the text above, that file governs. Ask us for a copy of any of them at hello@tvara.health.

Exercise animations

Exercise demonstration animations are commercially licensed to Tvara. They are not open source and may not be extracted or reused.
